synovial osteochondromatosis

multiple ossified synovial fragments within joint space ("joint mice")

  • synovial villus thickening
    • --> cartilagenous metaplasia
    • --> bone formation

two types:
    familial
    miriad very small densities
    presents early in life
    non-familial
    several small + large densities
    presents later
