totally intrathoracic stomach


defect in the central tendon of the diaphragm in combination with a slight volvulus in the transverse axis of the stomach behind the heart

  • findings:
    • cardia may be intrathoracic (usually) or subdiaphragmatic
    • greater curvature may be on right or left side
