perilunate dislocation


  • lunate remains aligned with radius
  • capitate dislocates (usually posteriorly)

  • more common than lunate dislocation (radial-lunate ligaments stronger than lunate-capitate ligaments)

  • associated with scaphoid fractures (75%) = "transscaphoid perilunate dislocation"
