- RIGHT more common, 10% bilateral
- birth trauma
- hypoxia
- septicemia
- congenital syphilis
- hemorrhagic disorders (hemophilia, etc.)
adult
Notes:- usually resolves in 4-6 wks
- adrenal insufficiency rare, even if bilat.
- may calcify
