Candida micro-abscesses

• multiple SMALL hypodense (and hypoechoic) lesions
  • in liver +/- spleen
  • often "target" lesions

• Candida albicans mycelia
• immunocompromised pts, such as leukemics

DDx:

• mets (larger)
• leukemic infiltration (nodular or tumefactive deposits rare)

• miriad small lesions ==> pathognomonic for Candida
