diffuse esophageal spasm

• normal LES pressure, normal peristalsis
• spontaneous, simultaneous increased amplitude contractions

• sx: pain, dysphagia
• Rx: drugs, dilatation, myotomy

• "corkscrew esophagus"
• +/- hiatus hernia (d/t esophageal contraction)
