microcystic adenoma of pancreas

• benign tumor of pancreas
• M:F = 1:4, peak age 69 y/o
• tiny cysts filled w/ GLYCOGEN, not mucin

• large (ca. 10 cm)
• innumerable small cysts (1mm - 20mm)
• central stellate scar +/- calcification
• hypervascular
• head = body = tail

• ** a/w von Hippel-Lindau syndrome
• Cf: "macrocystic adenoma", alias mucinous cystic neoplasm
