- most severe form of renal dysplasia
- most common cause of palpaple abdominal mass in infants
- unilateral (90%; fatal if bilateral)
- ureter/renal artery absent or hypoplastic
- NOT associated with other cysts or with periportal fibrosis
- Potter type II
