vasopressin (Pitressin)

• IV or IA dose: 0.1 - 0.4 U / min

• protocol:
  • start at 0.2 U/min x 30 minutes

  • repeat angio
  • if bleeding stopped, continue for 12 - 24 hours
  • o/w, give 0.4 U/min x 30 minutes

  • repeat angio
  • if stopped, taper over next 24 hours
  • o/w, consider embolization
