acute disseminated encephalomyelitis

• allergic rxn to prior infection
  • begins 1-2 wks after event
  • occus after viral infection or vaccination
• affects corpus callosum + white matter (above + below tent)
• self-limited; steroids may help

• white-matter disease
• demyelinating disease
