• avascular necrosis of vertebral body
• age: 2-15 years

1. uniform collapse of vertebral body into flat thin disc
2. increased density of verbra
3. neural arches not affected
4. disc spaces are normal with normal intervertebral disc space
5. intervertebral vacuum cleft sign (pathognomonic)
6. no kyphosis

• fracture
• eosinophilic granuloma
• tumor
• infection
• steroids
• hemangioma
