criteria:
- portal vein >13mm (57% sensitivity, 100% specificity)
- SMV + splenic vein >10 mm
- coronary vein >4mm
- recanalized umbilical vein >3mm (Cruveilhier-von Baumgarten syndrome)
- loss of respiratory increase of splanchnic vein diameter (80% sensitivity,
100% specificity)
- esophageal, gastric, sigmoid, rectal varices
- hepatofugal venous flow (82% sensitivity, 100% specificity)
- cavernous transformation of portal vein
- increased echogenicity and thickening of portal vein
- splenomegaly
- ascites
